Long-haul driver and mother of three Hazel E. P. Zeeotomie, who goes by the handle Mother Trucker, has decided that enough is enough. She insists on telling her kids the truth about everything and wants the rest of society to follow suit. That’s why she has gathered 617,386 signatures on a petition to Congress to rename Mother’s Day and call it what it is: Labor Day.
“In my case, it was really Labor Day-and-a-half all three times,” she said to the press. “19 hours of gritting my teeth and wishing their dad was under the wheels of my Peterbilt. So let’s not sugarcoat it.”
In a separate petition, she wants Thanksgiving changed to Mother’s Day in honor of who has to do all the work on that one, too.
