Brad Pitt may be known for his good looks, but it appears he also has a business head. The Hollywood star just opened the first of a proposed chain of gas stations he is branding “Pitt Stops.”
“I’ve been in many cars in my life,” Mr. Pitt told reporters at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “I’ve been to a lot of gas stations, too. I just think, hey, people spend money in these places. Maybe I can make money in them.”
These are no average gas stations, however. Screens above each gas pump play a 24-hour loop of Pitt’s classic Nineties hits, including Meet Joe Black and Legends of the Fall. Inside the shops, there will be a dedicated section of souvenirs, including replicas of Mr. Pitt’s helmet from the movie Troy and travel-sized bottles of the brand of leave-in conditioner he uses. Wines from his French wineries will also be on tap next to the standard flavored freeze and soft drinks.
So far, fans and drivers alike are excited about this new venture. “There are two things I love in life,” the 45-year-old mother of three, Joan Gelflin, told us. “Brad Pitt, and getting away from my family, which usually happens in my car, which needs gas to run, so I love Brad Pitt and gas stations. I am so excited that this first Pitt Stop is only four hours from my house. I’m going to be here every week!” Movie reviews may be mixed, but so far, all the reviews of the Pitt Stop concept are glowing. Mr. Pitt could not be happier, “Gas prices are so high. I know this business will help keep me in my house in Spain. And my house in Sicily. And my house in Malibu. And my house on Galveston Island. And my house in-“
