Truckers who work at the Coachella Music Festival 2023 are feeling inspired and motivated after a surprise speech by Mexican singer Benito “Bad Bunny” Martinez during his performance on Sunday night. In particular, the truckers were touched by Bad Bunny’s emotional speech about feelings and how we don’t choose what we feel.
“I’ve been to a lot of festivals in my time, but I’ve never seen anything like that speech,” says Jake Johnson, a truck driver who’s been working at Coachella for the past five years. “Bad Bunny really spoke to all of us, and his words about feelings really hit home.”
During his set, Bad Bunny paused to address the crowd, expressing his own vulnerability and talking about how it’s okay to feel emotions and let them guide us. He went on to talk about the importance of supporting each other and lifting each other up, regardless of background or profession.
“I could see the tears in some of the drivers’ eyes when Bad Bunny started talking about feelings,” says Johnson. “It was like he was speaking directly to them, reminding them that it’s okay to be human and that they deserve respect and recognition.”
Since the speech, the truckers have been rallying together, sharing their own stories and experiences of working behind the scenes to make the festival happen. They’ve even started a hashtag on social media – #TruckersHaveFeelingsToo – to spread the message and show their pride in their profession.
“It’s really brought us all closer together,” says Johnson. “We might not be the ones up on stage, but we’re an essential part of the festival, and it feels great to have that acknowledged.” As for Bad Bunny’s speech, it’s clear that it resonated with the truckers and left a lasting impact on them.
