Due to an environmental court order, the town trash dump in Flatulence, Nebraska, had to be relocated to a new site 3 miles away by an impressive convoy of dump trucks. That, of course, prompted the local smart-alecks to start in with the jokes.
“So you took a dump on the road?” was the most popular, naturally, though the truck drivers stopped laughing after the 80th time they heard it. When an old department store mannequin fell off one load, “Did you dump your girlfriend, bro?” made the rounds. And when an open window let candy wrappers and fuel receipts fly out, “Dude, your truck’s a dump” was the automatic response.
The remarks were reduced to a trickle by the drivers collectively threatening to dump the so-called ‘wits’ in a ditch.
