Summer is hot in Arizona and a terrible time for your vehicle to break down- especially if your vehicle is a popular ice cream truck. That is precisely what happened to Jimmy Slick, owner of Jimmy’s Pops Ice Cream Truck, earlier this week.
“I had a total meltdown,” Jimmy told reporters at the very messy scene. “It’s a hundred and twelve degrees out here. The car won’t start. I’m crying, my dog’s crying, the ice cream starts melting everywhere-“
Police on the scene agree. “It was getting dangerous for the other cars. They were dodging strawberries, sliding on chocolate swirl- real hazardous conditions.”
The cause of the car problem is still under investigation, but it took nearly an hour for a tow truck to arrive on the scene. By then, the ice cream was almost entirely gone.
“I lost a week’s worth of pops in an hour. And I just could not stop crying,” Jimmy explained tearfully. “Neither could my dog.”
Police are confident insurance will cover the losses, and they are grateful Jimmy brought them some ice cream as a thank you for their help during this very sticky situation. “Summer heat is no joke,” they said. “And neither are these pops. These are delicious.”
