In what supporters are calling an ‘it’s about time’ moment and detractors are calling a ‘you gotta be kidding me’ moment, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled unanimously today that a new national dress code must be enforced on all commercial truck drivers in America: they must wear capes.
Strictly speaking, they must wear complete superhero outfits because, as Justice Adam D. Lushionnal wrote in his opinion, ‘Truckers put up with more crap, pound-for-pound, than anyone else, and this badassery should be plain for all to see.’
The Department of Transportation has already contracted with major comic book artists and Mexican wrestling designers to produce a standard uniform that all truckers can be proud of. Details are still sketchy, but a padded seat is already a given.
