In a bold attempt to attract a new demographic to a show about incestuous, dragon-riding, homicidal, power-hungry characters, the production team behind Game of Thrones announced today that they are working on a spin-off series where the dragons are replaced by heavy trucks.
‘We think it’s a natural evolution of our fictional world,’ explained showrunner Yurasis Draggun. ‘Viewers want a more grounded type of fantasy these days. And nothing stays on the ground more than a 10-ton truck. Put military-grade flamethrowers on top of the cab, and it’s practically indistinguishable from the original.’
‘We were going to have the truckers be wealthy aristocrats,’ Draggun added, ‘but that proved to be more fantasy than people would accept.’
