The trucking industry was left in shock as reports surfaced that trucks were asking for tips from customers. The trucks, which have been equipped with new “tip jars”, have been seen holding out their “hands” to customers upon delivery, expecting a little extra cash for a job well done.
“We had no idea this was going to happen,” said a spokesperson for one of the major trucking companies. “We’re figuring out how to deal with this, but in the meantime, we’re just telling customers to ignore the trucks.”
Many customers are amused by the development, with one business owner stating, “I don’t mind giving a tip, but I’m not sure how to put the money in the truck’s ‘hand’.”
