Normally when you hear the words ‘truck’ and ‘cruise,’ you envision an 18-wheeler buzzing down a straight highway without a care in the world. But now there’s another slant on that. No Joke Cruise Lines out of Shreveport has introduced trucking-themed cruised packages, and they’re selling like hot pockets at a Buc-ee’s.
No Joke’s Entertainment Director, Molly Klownshuze, laid out the attractions her ships provide. “Our craft has room for 800 passengers, plus the crew and the kitchen staff we lured away from the Wichita Waffle House. Their jambalaya flambé is to die for (literally). Disney has licensed us their ‘Tappin’ Toes with Tow Mater’ dance revue. And for couples looking to rekindle some romance, there’s a canoe side trip to the Atchafalaya Swamp.”
No Joke’s ships are renovated Mississippi River trash barges, but Klownshuze insisted that the smell “is hardly noticeable anymore.”
