For the second time in a row the Houston Astros have brought controversy and accusations of cheating to the venerable World series, this time over illegal bats. But that brouhaha is nothing compared to the wild goings-on at the World Series of Trucking being held in Tropicana Field’s domed stadium in Tampa.
Perennial rivals the New York Fuggedaboutits and the Beverly Hills Poodles are currently 2-2 in their series of driving contests. But that does little to communicate the depth of the shady activities each side accuses the other of. LA claims that New York has been laser-pointing its drivers during their steering maneuvers, while the Fuggedaboutits say that the Poodles staged rows of Hollywood starlets in yoga pants to distract their team with “twerking that would make my gramma blush.”
In addition, each side insists that the other has been caught trying to disable the other’s vehicles with hoagies down the exhaust pipes. New York insists it was just trying to warm up its lunch.
