Monique Stevens, a staunch environmentalist and longtime social policy activist decided that she would be the change she wanted to see in the world. After quitting her job as a private jet pilot, Monique obtained her CDL and applied to Logging Miles, a company that transports 500 tons of wood every year. “She seemed like a great candidate,” John Waddlesworth, CEO of Logging Miles, said, “and certainly not someone who cared about the environment. She flew private jets for a living!”
However, much to John’s surprise, he began receiving complaints about Monique’s trips. Multiple customers never received their loads; others stated that Monique only let them have their lumber after she lectured them for 3 hours on why the earth was slowly dying. Upon further questioning, Monique claimed that she was “serving Mother Nature” and “couldn’t be responsible for [John’s] bad decisions.”
One day, on his way home, John took a detour home. Behind his company, he was shocked when he saw 24 loads of tree trunks that had been dumped rather than shipped out to their customers. “I was just putting the trees back where they belong,” Monique said. “If trees could feel emotions, they would hate this company.” After being arrested for theft, the police questioned Monique about why she still drove the truck from city to city, clearly against her green belief system.
She had no comment.
