Nashville’s touring bands were going nowhere Wednesday when all their equipment trucks staged a work stoppage to protest the appalling conditions they say they are forced to endure.
Their spokes-truck, a bright blue Peterbilt 587 sleeper who hauls speakers and lights, said in a lovely Tennessee drawl, ‘It’s gettin’ to the point where I don’t wanna come to work no more. Divorces, whiskey binges, cheatin’ girlfriends, bar fights…and them’s just the lyrics. You out of seeing what their actual behavior’s like.’
As of press time, negotiations were stalled on the issue of ‘romantic engagements’ in the box trailers.
