Move over, Golden Mirrorball Trophy, there’s a new top prize in the celebrity dancing game. The inaugural Crystal Hubcap Trophy has just been awarded to light-footed long-haul trucker Merlene Haiheelz, for her outstanding moves in the Dancing with the Cars and Trucks show.
The competition is similar to others like it, except that all contestants must be full-time truck drivers. After a nationwide search from Temecula, California to Limerick, Maine, 12 lucky dancers hit the floor to hits such as “18 Wheels and a Dozen Roses,” “On the Road Again,” and Weird Al’s seminal American transportation classic, “Driving a Truck with My High Heels On.”
Merlene clinched her win with a fiery paso doble to Pet Symmetry’s “Please Don’t Tell My Father That I Used His 1996 Honda Accord to Destroy the Town of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania in 2002.”
