In a stunning turn of events, a truck driver from Colorado won the lottery and quit his job on the spot, leaving his truck parked on the side of the road.
“I just couldn’t take it anymore,” said the driver, who wished to remain anonymous. “I’ve been hauling freight for years, and I’m sick of living paycheck to paycheck. This money is my ticket out.”
The driver, who won a staggering $50 million in the lottery, said he plans to travel the world and start his own business.
“I’m done with this rigmarole,” he said. “I’m going to see the world and live the life I’ve always dreamed of. And as for my former employer, I hope they can find someone else to drive this old clunker.”
The driver’s former employer, shocked by the sudden departure, expressed concern about the truck now stranded on the side of the road.
“We just hope the truck is safe,” said a spokesperson for the company. “But we’re going to have to figure out how to get it back to our yard. It’s not like we can leave it here. Our driver could have at least driven it back to the yard now that he is a millionaire. It’s not fair!” he cried.
