Long-haul truck driver Cletus Lucky of Unaware, Alabama nearly had a grade-A coronary event last week when he found out that he had won $672 million playing Powerball. After his wife Junebug brushed off the Cheeto’s, got him up off the living room floor, and into his favorite green La-Z-Boy, Cletus took stock of his new circumstances.
“It’s sort of a Jed Clampett’ moment, you know?” he said, still dazed. “I went from being dirt-poor, despite “owning” a $250,000 truck, to being “dirty Congressman rich” in the blink of an eye. Gonna have to think about what I’m gonna do now.”
After considering his staggering new wealth, Cletus announced, “I guess I’ll just keep driving my truck till that money’s all gone. I figure 18 months ought to do it.”
