Just when you thought you’d made it more or less safely through one plague, here comes another, a new global scourge called truckey-pox.
According to the World Health Organization, the disease originated in the outrage glands of truck drivers in Kansas who have had just about all they can take. It has rapidly spread to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and even overseas. Its cause has been linked to taxes, tolls, government red tape, downtime at loading docks, and predatory pay practices.
Symptoms include a red face, screaming, and poverty. The only cure is taking up a quiet life of tomato farming out of earshot of any highway.
