Truckers passing through the small town of Route 66 were in for a shock this week when they stopped at the local diner to find that the menu had been completely overhauled to be vegan. The burgers and fries were replaced with quinoa bowls and tofu scrambles.
“I don’t even know what half this stuff is,” said one trucker, who was clearly disappointed with the new menu. “I just want a greasy burger and a side of fries.”
Despite the initial shock, some truckers have embraced the change. “I never thought I’d say this, but I think I’m going to start eating healthier on the road,” said one trucker, who had just finished a plate of vegan nachos.
