Truck Traffic Jam Becomes 51st State

When a wayward armadillo family on I-35 in Dallas caused 89-year-old great-grandmother Mildred Hutchinson to panic-stop for the adorable little darlings. 867 semi-trucks were forced to do the same, resulting in a traffic jam visible from the International Space Station.

Now, 17 years later, with still no way found to untangle the mess, Congress has been forced to recognize it as the 51st state. Driver Harry Mitchell, 47, of Topeka, has been named governor by virtue of his mishearing “do you want to be the chief executive” as “cheese executive.”

The state motto is “E Pluribus Stallum,” and the flag features crossed bumpers on a field of blue.
